Galgorm fife and drum club

Fifing to the lambeg drum is an old tradition in Ulster.  For many years it had been dying out, and as part of their attempt to revive the tradition and the many Irish tunes associated with it, Galgorm fife and drum club asked us to turn an old audio cassette they'd found into something useful.

We converted the tape to digital format, copied it onto the computer and removed the hiss.  We broke the file into individual tunes, removed mistakes and generally cleaned up the recording.

The tunes were then copied onto a CD and we burned a short run so they could distribute it among those who want to learn the fife.  As an added bonus, we added a data track so the CD could be used as a CD ROM in a computer with all the tunes in MP3 format, and links to the Galgorm fife and Drum website.
